Research Administration Training Program (RAT Pack)
In 2009 the Johns Hopkins University proudly announced its first cohort of the Research Administration Training Program (RAT Pack). Using F&A that had been earned from America Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) awards, Johns Hopkins established a new training program to help bolster the administrative resources needed to manage sponsored funding at the University. The five individuals in the first cohort of the RAT Pack were recruited through the Johns Hopkins job fair held in the spring of that year. An initial fund of $250,000 was established to seed the program and cover the salaries of the trainees.
