Outgoing Subawards

The JHURA Outgoing Subawards team manages the process of drafting, negotiating and executing funded agreements to external entities ensuring risk mitigation and proper stewardship of research funds.

What Is a Subaward?

A JHU (outgoing) subaward (also known as a subagreement or subcontract) is an agreement issued by JHU to an external entity under its JHU sponsored prime award, setting forth terms and conditions for a subrecipient organization to assist by performing a significant programmatic aspect of the overall project. The outgoing subaward process commences once the JHU incoming grant award, cooperative agreement, or contract from a JHU sponsor has internally processed through JHURA (via JAWS) for the purpose of completing a project/research study.
